What types of concerns are not a good fit for the Skagway walk-in clinic? glad you asked.

The Walk-In Clinic is designed to efficiently address simple medical needs on demand at a reasonable cost so you can get back to your day’s adventures.

As such, the Walk-In Clinic is staffed by one person, your provider. Beyond basic tests (COVID, strep, urine, and a few others), there is no laboratory testing or imaging (x-rays). Medical care that requires these services is still available at Dahl Memorial Clinic, our full-service health center.

Clients are limited to one concern per visit to help keep appointments on time and improve availability.

Below is a list of services that will need to be addressed at Dahl Memorial Clinic:

  • Primary care and chronic disease management

  • Emergency medical services including chest pain or pressure, difficulty breathing, severe abdominal pain, stroke symptoms (weakness, speech disturbance, facial droop), severe allergic reaction, high fever with confusion or lethargy

  • Wounds, injuries and stitches

  • Injections or procedures

  • Testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (inquire with Dahl Memorial Clinic for free STI testing)

  • The Walk-In Clinic will also not prescribe any controlled medications (opiates, sedatives, and others)

The Walk-In Clinic may prescribe medications to our affiliate pharmacy, The Pillbox Drug Co., whose pharmacy is located within Dahl Memorial Clinic at 14th & Broadway St. It is the responsibility of the patient to retrieve their prescription after their visit at The Pillbox Drug Co. at Dahl Memorial Clinic if so desired.
